What happens when a rookie NASCAR driver gets a wholesome family sponsor? A bad boy finds the heart he always had, and a good girl learns new lessons about the better things in life.
Tulane Rhodes’ “bad boy” reputation comes from his famous and infamous adventures earning him that title. Tulane is a race car driver who is getting his chance on the NASCAR track, but that’s only the beginning of his story. Though he isn’t happy with his girly race car, his very own chaperone irkes him more.
To cramp his style and clamp down on his antics, this public relations advance person is to be present at appearances; in other words, she’s to make him show up to the appearances.
Moreover, this P.R. lady is a prim, prudish, puritan straight arrow, but his temper has already put him in hot water with the race car owner and the sponsor. So, he’s gotta deal with her. Not that she’s hard to look at; it’s the opposite. She fills out real nice in all the right places, but she’s irritating and stuffy all wrapped in power suits and sophistication. And she’s not that good at her job.
Meanwhile, Sarah Murray is your typical unblemished, preacher’s daughter, goody two-shoe struggling in a career where the good girls always finish last in a place where colleagues steal others’ ideas to skip over some rungs on the corporate ladder. Her inept stab at revenge puts her right here because Sarah isn’t good at being a ruthless career woman. In other words, she’s close enough to being fired that she needs this assignment to work.
Maybe with her being around her bad boy client, whom she tends to t-off regularly, Sarah can learn to change herself for the better.
But when she gets to Tulane’s hometown, Last Chance, everything goes wrong.
From the get-go, she’s being set up to fail by another in the company who wants her gone, but worst of all, this little town’s populace decides she’d be their pastor’s best match. However, Sarah already desires one of this town’s bad boys.
In the meanwhile, her new job description includes orders from the Dragon Lady to put more than public relations on her résumé. This new boss wants to add both spy and public executioner to the job’s duties. She wants her to find an excuse to drop this bad boy. But, Sarah’s in lust with Tulane and something else that’s beginning to bloom is taking control of her heart, and she’s in love with his family and a town that this Boston girl would love to call home.
I recommend Hope Ramsay’s HOME AT LAST CHANCE.
Her quirky Rhodes characters will draw you into their family unit and make you want to stay. Hope Ramsay writes a most irreverent tale with a Southern flare about romance. You can expect laughs and the unexpected with twists and turns that will keep you rooting for the bad boy and wanting the good girl to get her hands dirty.
You will certainly want to read the first book in the Last Chance series, WELCOME TO LAST CHANCE (Forever March 2011) until the next book in this series, LAST CHANCE BEAUTY QUEEN (Forever), releases in January 2012.
